Job summary

Elliot Health System is seeking an Admissions Registrar to gather, verify, and document demographic and financial data for patients. You will work to uphold the organization’s mission, vision, beliefs, and standards of behavior.

The role involves providing information required by federal mandates, obtaining consents and pre-authorizations, and coordinating with patients, physicians, and staff. Strong attention to detail and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Typing and computer skills; medical terminology preferred.
• Customer service relations and office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with information required by federal mandates (e.g., Patient Rights and Responsibilities, Advance Care Directives, Medicare messages).
• Receive and provide shift reports at start and end of shifts.
• Obtain consents, assignment of benefits, and releases.
• Obtain information on religious preference and affiliation.
• Practice safe transport of patients.
• Initiate pre-certification and pre-authorization for services.
