Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registration Associate to manage pre-admit and face-to-face patient registration across Main Admissions and outpatient areas. You will secure demographic and financial information, verify insurance, and facilitate patient access to services.

The role requires clear explanations of financial obligations to patients, accurate MRN assignment, and proficient use of the hospital ADT system, with attention to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 1 year Customer Service experience preferably in a healthcare setting.
• 2 years Healthcare Revenue Cycle - preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs all admissions activities for pre-admit and face-to-face registration of patients presenting to Main Admissions and/or outpatient areas for treatment.
• Obtains financial clearance and determines patient's correct financial classification.
• Performs insurance verification electronically, telephonically, DDE or product website use on Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, PPO or commercial products.
• Performs proper system search to secure a medical record number or assign a new one without duplication.
• Performs proper selection of physician and recognizes privileging issues.
• Explains patient financial obligation and collects funds to meet department goals.
• Explains admit and consent forms and obtains signatures.
• Assembles admitting and financial paperwork for patient chart per requirements.
• Demonstrates navigation and entry of patient/financial information in ADT and related systems.
• Scans documents into the scanning system for retrieval.
• Works and resolves error worklist daily and without exception.
• Performs other duties as assigned
