Job summary

Geauga YMCA in Chardon, OH, is seeking a Pathways Instructor to plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in youth programs, support family nights, and promote safe, engaging programs for YMCA members and participants.

The role requires at least 1 year of youth programming, CPR/First Aid within 90 days, babysitter cert if under 18, and a minimum age of 16. Strong communication and teamwork are essential; be prepared to work with diverse families and uphold YMCA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year youth programming experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 90 days of hire.
• Completed the Red Cross Babysitter Certification if under the age of 18.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Excellent personal computer skills.
• Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated team player.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect.

Responsibilities

• Plan each activity in advance with proper materials and attire.
• Develop and maintain positive rapport with youth and parents.
• Leave program area safe, clean and properly arranged.
• Relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
• Adhere to Bloodborne Pathogen standards and attend training.
• Ensure all classes meet YMCA standards and safety procedures.
