Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Lab Transcriptionist to interpret and transcribe dictations into patient histories, exam notes, operative reports and other documents within the Pathology - Integrated Lab department. You will work with transcription equipment and EHR systems, ensure patient confidentiality, and support quality assurance by reviewing transcripts for accuracy and completeness.

A High School/GED is required, with Associates in Medical Transcription preferred and CMT certification

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in Medical Transcription preferred.
• CMT certification preferred.
• Experience in hospital or health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes medical reports and notes from dictated material.
• Provides online copies of transcripts to physicians for review and signature.
• Operates transcription equipment and related software.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per laws and guidelines.
• Reviews transcripts for accuracy and quality.
• Enters data into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Prepares pathology sendouts and slides as needed.
• Completes registration and related duties as required.
