Job summary

Amgen in South San Francisco, CA, is seeking a Scientist to join the Pathology Laboratory within the Translational Safety & Risk Sciences (TSRS) Department. You will develop tissue-based assays, including multiplex assays and digital image analysis, to support target expression studies and biomarker discovery.

Responsibilities include validating histopathology assays (IHC, ISH) on FFPE samples, using imaging data to support pharmacodynamics and efficacy assessments, and collaborating with

Qualifications

• PhD or master’s degree in cell biology, molecular biology, or related discipline.
• Two+ years of molecular pathology experience, industry preferred.
• Experience with pathology-based methods: IHC, multiplex IHC, ISH, and immunofluorescence imaging.
• Experience with digital pathology and image analysis (HALO/Visiopharm).
• Experience with automated staining platforms (Ventana/Leica/IntelliPATH).
• Strong communication and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, validate, and standardize histopathology assays using FFPE samples, including single-plex and multiplex IHC and ISH.
• Use imaging modalities and digital pathology tools to analyze tissue-based data for pharmacodynamics and biomarker development.
• Collaborate with pathologists, research investigators, and translational teams to deliver high-quality data across therapeutic areas.
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate results through LIS, databases, and team presentations.
