Job summary

Labcorp in Greenfield, IN is seeking a recent graduate for a Research Study Technician position on the Post Life team. The role involves necropsy, histology, and data collection in a pre-clinical, lab-based setting, with a Monday–Friday schedule 7:00am–3:30pm EST.

Initial pay is $22 per hour with a $0.50 increase after training; start date could be May 2027 through October 2027; relocation assistance available and comprehensive benefits for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry or an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology/Veterinary Nursing.
• 6 months or more of experience with small and large animal dissections.
• 6 months or more of experience in animal handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic necropsy or histology tasks on a variety of laboratory animals in compliance with the appropriate SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory guidelines
• Monitor animal health and welfare in compliance with the Animal Health and Welfare Act and help maintain facilities for AAALAC compliance
• Performing multiple tissue freezing techniques and measuring of tissues
• Performing histological trimming, bagging of tissues, and embedding
• Learns to perform various methods of euthanasia on multiple species according to USDA regulations (if applicable)
• Participates in quality controls and assures correction of errors (incl. documentation)
• Participate in monitoring and tracking resources (e.g., equipment, rooms, study supplies)
• Adapts techniques to new procedures or particular needs as directed
• Learn how to interpret a study protocol
• Reports all animal care concerns and becomes involved in the resolution and appropriate corrective action, when necessary
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment
• Maintains client confidentiality at all times
• Performs other duties as assigned
