Position: Pathology Patient Care Technician II

We are seeking a Pathology Patient Care Technician II who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role involves performing phlebotomy for inpatients and outpatients, as well as ordering and processing laboratory specimens.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience required

Responsibilities:

• Perform phlebotomy procedures such as venipuncture, fingerstick, and heelstick, including blood cultures, newborn screens, and glucose tolerances, following established protocols.
• Interact with patients and their families courteously and promptly, ensuring excellent customer service.
• Maintain proficiency in procedures and equipment through ongoing performance and supervision.
• Participate in proficiency testing to validate competency.
• Document events accurately and investigate circumstances around any incidents.
• Manage workflow and staff breaks to meet turnaround times.
