A leading healthcare provider is hiring a Pathology Laboratory Assistant for a part-time role. Responsibilities include interpreting laboratory requests, maintaining quality control, and preparing specimens. **Responsibilities**
+ Correctly interprets provider laboratory requests and determines specimen requirements. Correctly labels and identifies patient samples submitted to the pathology lab.
+ Records gross descriptions of cytology specimens and selects appropriate specimen preparation methods for the type of specimen received.
+ Retrieves specimens, slides and tissue blocks as directed. Responsible for the storage and disposal of specimen slides and blocks.
**Qualifications**
**Required education and experience:**
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ 6 months clinical laboratory experience
**Preferred Education:**
+ Associate Degree in biological or Chemical Science

As our Pathology Laboratory Assistant you will interpret provider laboratory request and determine specimen requirements.
Every day you will maintain quality control records and follow protocols to prevent cross contamination between specimens.

**Pay Range**
$19.73 - $27.13 /hour
