Job summary

Summit Pathology is seeking a Lab Assistant/Hospital Tech at Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, WY. Hours are 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday, with potential travel to Colorado or other Wyoming locations during training.

You will assist pathologists and hospital staff in processing and preparing surgical and cytology specimens, accessioning into the LIS, data entry, and quality control. You may help with needle procedures, slide preparation, and frozen sections.

Qualifications

• Education in lab science and related coursework.
• Excellent data entry skills and familiarity with LIS systems.
• Strong customer service and confidentiality awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assess specimen quality and prepare for processing or grossing.
• Accession specimens into LIS; perform data entry.
• Maintain accuracy in identification of numbers and names.
• Quality control of requisitions.
• Assist with needle procedures and slide preparation.
• Assist with frozen section specimens and gross room organization.
• Handle inventory and offsite storage.
• Provide courteous, professional responses to calls and team communication.
• Participate in team meetings and assist training as needed.
• Adhere to safety standards and company policies.
