Job summary

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum 1-year clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• State Certified as CPT I or CPT II if required.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs computer entry, filing, telephone communication and other clerical duties.
• Greet patients and visitors in a polite and friendly manner.
• Possesses good communication skills.
• Demonstrates knowledge of laboratory test terminology.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of phlebotomy and related equipment.
• Processes specimens across pathology, microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, and blood bank.
• Processes specimens for reference laboratory.
• Stocks and orders routine supplies.
• Maintains storage areas, trays, centrifuges, and collection areas.
• Prepares specimens for analysis and operates instruments per policy.
• With proper training, may perform instrument maintenance and QC procedures.
• Other tasks as assigned by department manager/director.
• Assist in Pathology with training and evaluation.
• Runner.
