Zusammenfassung

UF Health Jacksonville is seeking a detail-oriented laboratory assistant to assist with processing specimens, accessioning into LIS, and preparing slides and reports. The role requires accurate patient identification and adherence to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will support phlebotomy and routine clerical tasks, monitor workflow, handle specimens, and maintain logs and equipment QC, while communicating professionally with clinicians and lab staff.

Qualifikationen

• 1-2 years data entry or lab experience preferred.
• Specimen processing knowledge in microbiology, histology or cytology preferred.
• Able to prioritize tasks and remain accurate under pressure.

Aufgaben

• Accession laboratory specimens into LIS, ensure proper billing codes, and prepare blocks/slides.
• File/retrieve paperwork, ship blocks, and maintain slide retention; keep QC logs.
• Answer phones professionally and direct calls appropriately.
