Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Manager who will oversee departmental laboratory operations under the direction of the Director. The role includes ensuring compliance with point of care testing and related offsite areas, and coordinating with clinical staff to support patient care and quality standards.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field, with a Master's preferred, and at least 5 years of clinical experience including supervisory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or closely related field is required.
• Master's degree in Business Administration or Health Administration is preferred.
• 5 years of clinical experience, including at least two years with supervisory responsibilities, preferably in an acute care hospital setting is required.
• Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for is required.
• Management of Clinical Laboratory and Anatomic Pathology certifications required (ASCP/AMT/AAB).

Responsibilities

• Oversees departmental operations of the Laboratory and ensures compliance.
• Monitors safe, efficient and quality performance for employees, patients and visitors.
• Collaborates with nursing, administrative and medical staff to coordinate patient care and drive improvements.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or closely related field

Master's degree in Business Administration or Health Administration (preferred)

ASCP/AMT/AAB clinical laboratory management certification (required)

Histology/ Cytology/ Histotechnologist certification for anatomic pathology (required)
