Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee departmental operations of the Laboratory and ensure safe, compliant point of care testing across affiliated offsite areas. The role requires coordination with nursing, administrative and medical staff to uphold patient care standards.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Medical Technology (or related field), with 5 years of clinical experience including 2 years in supervision, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a closely related field is required
• Master's degree in Business Administration or Health Administration is preferred
• 5 years of clinical experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in an acute care hospital
• Certification in medical technology and MT/ASCP/AMT/AAB required for Laboratory management; histology certifications for Anatomic Pathology management are required

Responsibilities

• Oversees departmental operations of the Laboratory
• Performs administrative duties including oversight of point of care testing and offsite areas
• Monitors operations to ensure safe, efficient and quality performance standards
• Collaborates with nursing, administrative, medical and other staff to coordinate patient care activities
