Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Lab Technical Assistant to support technical and transcription staff in the laboratory areas. You will perform specimen preparatory functions and provide clerical and technical support in Pathology.

Work hours are 7am-3:30pm, with weekend requirements. The role emphasizes accurate procedures, strong communication, and computer keyboarding skills to handle specimens and records efficiently.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to understand and apply accurate procedures in specimen handling and clerical processing.
• Good communication and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to provide accurate information and instructions.
• Has strong computer keyboarding skills.
• One year experience as a Lab Technical Assistant in a clinical or pathology laboratory (preferred).
• Knowledge and experience in the use and application of computers (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assists the technical and transcription staff in one (1) or more of the laboratory areas.
• Performs specimen preparatory functions.
• Provides clerical and technical support in Pathology.
