Job summary

Hometown Health in Reno, NV seeks a Grossing Technician to accession, grossly examine, and process routine surgical pathology specimens under a Pathologist's supervision. You will prepare cassettes, describe specimens, and assist with intraoperative consultations while maintaining specimen integrity and compliance with safety and CAP/CLIA standards.

The position requires reading, writing and speaking English proficiently, a bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science, and Nevada licensure

Qualifications

• English reading, writing, speaking proficient to perform duties safely and effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, medical laboratory science, medical technology, or related field required unless CLIA/CAP standards apply.
• Experience in laboratory or anatomic pathology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accession specimens and document data accurately.
• Grossly examine specimens and describe findings.
• Inking, sectioning, tissue selection, and cassette preparation.
• Support intraoperative consultation and routine postoperative processing.
