Job summary

Austin Pathology Associates is seeking a dedicated role in Tyler, TX to handle skin specimen dissection and surgical sample grossing. You will maintain detailed records and draft precise descriptions to support diagnoses, ensuring efficient tissue processing workflows.

Qualifications

1 year of laboratory training or experience in grossing preferred
Education/training equivalent including 24 semester hours of MLS or 24 hours of science with chemistry/biology hours required

Responsibilities

Selects and performs dissection of skin specimens, margins and surgical samples following the surgical grossing protocol to ensure accurate and high quality processing of specimens.
Maintains accurate records of each specimen grossed for diagnostic and archive purposes.
Creates historical information by dictating accurate detailed descriptions to support diagnosis.
Drives workflow by coordinating the loading of specimens into the tissue processor for efficient use of equipment time.
Keeps company integrity by maintaining security and confidentiality of all data, procedures and data system components.
