Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Lewisville, TX seeks a Grossing Supervisor to oversee the Surgical Pathology grossing team, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and manage scheduling and training. The role includes budgeting, quality assurance, and collaboration with pathologists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological/Physical sciences required.
• NAACLS approved Pathologist Assistant training program required.
• AAPA Fellowship status and/or PA (ASCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the Lab Assistants in the Surgical Pathology area, Grossing Personnel and other Surgical Pathology support staff.
• Schedule and maintain adequate coverage and effective utilization of personnel.
• Maintain attendance records; approve overtime and vacation time.
• Provide technical instructions and training of personnel in techniques, instrumentation, and organization of work.
• Administer competency assessment, including direct observation, to grossing staff.
• Assist in the preparation of the budget and recommend capital equipment needs.
