Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate’s Degree in chemical or biological science or medical laboratory technology obtained from an accredited institution or equivalent education/training
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in the sciences such as biology and anatomy

Responsibilities

• Prepares tissue for gross pathology and dictation of overall description of specimens.
• Registers patient/specimens, assigning unique numbers to each specimen, and orders tests.
• Processes surgical specimens by a frozen process to quickly prepare specimens for Pathologist analysis for patients during surgery.
• Loads specimens into processor to prepare specimen blocks for cutting and analysis

Education

Associate degree in chemical or biological science or medical laboratory technology
