Responsibilities include tissue processing, staining, documentation, and use of EPIC for orders and billing. A Bachelor’s degree in science and strong attention to detail are required for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Specimen examination and gross assessment as directed by pathologists.
• Prepare and process tissue specimens for Histology, Cytology, and Pathology reviews.
• Perform specimen staining, coverslipping, and quality control for slides.
• Operate laboratory information systems and EPIC for orders and labeling.
• Maintain inventory and assist with purchasing of lab supplies.
• Participate in professional development and training activities.
• Ensure safety and proper disposal of specimens and PPE compliance.
• Document results and communicate with laboratories and clinicians.
