Job summary

ARUP Laboratories, based in Salt Lake City, is seeking a laboratory technician to support bone marrow collections and gross pathology workflows in the Huntsman Clinical Lab. The role involves specimen preparation, dissection, autopsy assistance, and maintaining quality control to ensure high-quality pathology services.

The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in medical laboratory sciences or related field, be proficient with LIS, and demonstrate strong attention to detail and teamwork

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or better in Medical Laboratory Sciences or related field.
• Associate’s degree in laboratory science or 60 semester hours including science, chemistry, biology, and related courses.
• Courses in Anatomy and Physiology and introductory pathology assistant work preferred; experience in grossing and/or autopsy is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for analysis and accession in LIS.
• Gross dissection and description of surgical specimens.
• Prepare tissue for histologic processing and cryostat maintenance.
• Assist in autopsy procedures and related specimen labeling.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and perform required QC and documentation.
