Job summary

Gastroenterology of the Rockies is a rapidly growing gastroenterology practice in Boulder County and the greater Denver Metro area with eight office locations and five Ambulatory Surgery Centers. The Grossing Technician performs and assists with the gross examination of surgical tissue specimens, ensuring quality control and proper tissue handling.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent training in chemical/biological sciences or medical lab.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with staff, vendors and customers.
• High ability to function in a team and work independently, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and processes patient specimens and supports gross lab function.
• Develops competence in grossing simple surgical pathology specimens and dictations, with supervision.
• Maintains quality control, proper instrument function and macros usage where applicable.
• Mentors new staff and contributes to safety and compliance in the lab.
