Qualifications

• Associate Degree with one year clinical laboratory experience.
• High school diploma with two years clinical laboratory experience.
• Ability to perform clerical and administrative duties accurately.

Responsibilities

• Specimen processing
• Special specimen preparation
• Filing slides
• Specimen collection and triage
• Sending cases out for consult
• Gathering slides for pathologist assigned to monthly tumor boards
• Handling of legal request
• Handles phone calls and messages and conveys information to appropriate person
• Independently performs, organizes, and plans clerical and administrative duties in an accurate and timely fashion
• Specimen accessioning
• Short form registration of patients in Epic
• Operates and maintains departmental instruments
• Maintains records and documentation required to manage the daily workflow and provide QA/QC monitors
• Routine staining
• Making arrangements for sending autopsies out to be performed
• Performs all other related duties as assigned
