Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health (Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, MA) seeks a Pathology Technician to support anatomic pathology workflows. You will accession, verify, and process pathology and cytology specimens under a Pathologist's supervision, ensuring accurate labeling, documentation, and QA compliance.

You will transport specimens, file blocks/slides, maintain safety procedures, monitor equipment, and assist the Navigation team with slide distribution and handling.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly.
• Ability to multitask; work in multiple department areas.
• Ability to use an electronic laboratory software system.
• Ability to perform complex analytic tests and interpret findings.
• Ability to identify problems in a process.

Responsibilities

• Specimen accessioning and entry into the laboratory information system.
• Transport and logging of specimens; ensure proper labeling and documentation.
• Maintain and dispose hazardous waste per SOPs and safety policies.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and monitor tissue processing equipment.
• Assist with slide preparation and distribution under supervision.

Education

Associate degree in a chemical or biological science

Laboratory training per ABHES/NAACLS or equivalent
