Job summary

Position Summary

Reports to a Technical Service Representative-MT, Lead Medical Technologist, or Customer Service Supervisor. Responsible for external transportation coordination, specimen receiving, specimen processing, problem‑solving, and tracking of specimens referred from affiliate sites and external laboratory clients and customers. Interface the needs of physicians, nurses, ward clerks, and external health providers, with technical and logistic information related to laboratory services available through the JHH Department of Pathology. Monitors services provided by commercial reference laboratories and troubleshoots external specimen problems within the Pathology Laboratory Division.

Location and Schedule

Johns Hopkins Hospital – Baltimore, MD – Core Lab Customer Service. Full Time Evening Shift, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm with weekend rotations required.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED.
• May be considered where an individual has a broad range of experience as a Pathology Lab Tech II or higher, with 3 or more years of experience and progressive demonstration of the skills necessary for the essential job functions.

Work Experience

• Six months of MLT internship. Alternate consideration of an individual with a broad range of experience as a Pathology Lab Tech II, with 3 or more years of experience and progressive demonstration of the skills necessary for the essential job functions.

Salary

Minimum $19.25/hour – Maximum $31.80/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. The hospital reserves the right to modify employee schedules as needed.
