Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a lab services coordinator for the Core Lab Customer Service team on the Evening Shift (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm) with weekend rotations. Responsibilities include coordinating external transport, receiving and processing specimens, and communicating with physicians and nurses to ensure timely laboratory results.
Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, plus 3+ years of experience or a broad range of pathology lab experience with progressive
Reports to a Technical Service Representative-MT, Lead Medical Technologist, or Customer Service Supervisor. Responsible for external transportation coordination, specimen receiving, specimen processing, problem‑solving, and tracking of specimens referred from affiliate sites and external laboratory clients and customers. Interface the needs of physicians, nurses, ward clerks, and external health providers, with technical and logistic information related to laboratory services available through the JHH Department of Pathology. Monitors services provided by commercial reference laboratories and troubleshoots external specimen problems within the Pathology Laboratory Division.

Minimum $19.25/hour – Maximum $31.80/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. The hospital reserves the right to modify employee schedules as needed.
