Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of laboratory accessioning or general pathology experience preferred.
• Must communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team and maintain accuracy.
• Compliance with HIPAA regulations and privacy policies.
• Proficient with standard computer applications.
• Demonstrated customer-service oriented skills.
• Ability to multitask efficiently under time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Receive, accession, track and disperse pathology cases from outside facilities.
• Order stains, molecular, cytogenetic studies as requested.
• Return COS cases to submitting facilities.
• Prepare and route materials for molecular tests and external labs.
• Send slides/blocks to external institutions as requested.
• Scan reports to appropriate network drives.
• Create invoices for PBM cases for research studies.
• Assist with CLIA preparation and inspections as needed.
