Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ is seeking a Pathology Assistant to assist the pathologists in surgical pathology, frozen sections and autopsies, functioning with minimal supervision. The role supports specimen preparation and examination, contributing to accurate diagnostics and timely reporting.

Qualified candidates have an associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, with NAACLS accreditation preferred; a biology degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from a NAACLS accredited institution.
• Baccalaureate degree in biology (or biological sciences) preferred.
• Completion of a NAACLS accredited pathologists' assistant program preferred.
• ASCP eligible preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pathologist in surgical pathology, frozen sections and autopsies.
• Work without immediate supervision when performing professional duties associated with the preparation, performance and completion of examination and/or preparations of surgical pathology specimens.
