Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Pathology Assistant to support tissue examination, dissection, and processing under a board-certified pathologist. The role involves gross and microscopic work, specimen handling, and coordination of pathology workflows in a hospital setting.

Qualified candidates will have a BS in Biological Sciences or related field, at least two years of experience, and NAACLS training preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior Pathology Assistant experience required.
• Graduate from an NAACLS approved Pathology Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assures specimen accessioning with clinical history and imaging data.
• Describes gross/anatomic features and prepares tissues for histologic processing.
• Obtains biological specimens for studies (flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, etc.).
• Participates in gross and microscopic specimen photography.
• Maintains pathology protocols, reports, and data; supports conferences.
