Sagis, PLLC is seeking a Pathology Assistant to support pathologists with gross examination and dissection of surgical and autopsy specimens in a clinical lab setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pathology Assisting or related field from an accredited program.
• ASCP certification as Pathologists Assistant preferred.
• 1–2 years of pathology lab experience; new graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens under pathologist supervision.
• Prepare tissue samples for microscopic exam and sampling for diagnosis.
• Document gross descriptions, measurements, and procedures accurately.
• Coordinate with lab staff for labeling, storage, and transfer of tissues.
• Participate in quality control and report discrepancies.
• Assist with training PA students and grossing techs in complex cases.
• Adhere to safety, HIPAA, OSHA, and regulatory standards.
• Communicate findings effectively with pathologists and surgeons.
• Engage in ongoing education and professional development.
