Job Summary:

HCA Healthcare Pathology Services and their West Florida Division are seeking an Associate Pathologist based at HCA Florida Largo Hospital, located on the coast directly west of Tampa.

HCA Healthcare is one of the nation's leading providers of healthcare services, with 185+ hospitals and 2,400+ sites of care across 20 states and the United Kingdom. Our pathology service line aims to deliver quality-driven, evidence- and value-based pathology services efficiently for all patients and clients.

Pathology Services comprises over 200 board-certified multispecialty pathologists, providing professional services to more than 100 HCA Healthcare-owned hospitals and commercial clients. We specialize in complex and challenging diagnoses, prioritizing the employment of top talent to advance patient care.

Qualified Candidates:

• AP/CP certification is required
• Over 2 years of practicing experience preferred
• Proficiency in general surgical pathology, clinical interpretations, and recent experience performing frozen sections
• Active Florida Medical License and/or FCVS is a plus
• Work volume includes approximately 4,000 surgical cases, 600 non-gyn cytology cases annually, 2 peripheral smears daily, and 1-2 blood bank reviews weekly

About HCA Florida Largo Hospital:

• Approximately 450 beds with a Transplant Center (kidney, liver, heart)
• Majority of anatomic pathology specimens are GI tract, including pancreatic and liver; other specimens include thoracic, head and neck, urologic, and neurologic cases. Cytology includes effusions, CSF, urine, EBUS, bile duct brushings, bronchial washings, and thyroid FNAs.
