Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System in Cleveland, OH is hiring a Pathologists’ Assistant to join the Pathology-Diagnostics Institute. You will independently examine, dissect, and prepare a wide variety of surgical specimens for histologic evaluation, under CLIA, CAP, and institutional policy.

This role emphasizes accurate specimen handling, QA/QC, documentation, and collaboration with pathologists and lab colleagues.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or NAACLS Pathologists’ Assistant program completed and ASCP certification eligible.
• US work authorization and ability to work days/evenings as scheduled.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform gross examination, description, and dissection of surgical specimens for histologic evaluation.
• Prepare fresh tissue for ancillary studies and assist with cytology procurement.
• Accurately enter results and documentation in laboratory information systems.
• Perform high-complexity laboratory testing per CLIA and CAP standards.
• Maintain instruments and assist with quality control and regulatory compliance.
• Provide training and supervision to pathology residents and students.
• Support regulatory compliance and patient safety.
