The Pathologists’ Assistant (PA), under supervision of a Pathologist, performs gross examination and sectioning of surgical pathology specimens. Ensures timely completion of grossing, following protocols to aid diagnosis. Coordinates between the Grossing area and other laboratory sections, surgical services, and providers. Maintains records, logs, and files as per standards. Cross-training or assistance in other lab sections may occur as needed.
