Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking a Pathologist Assistant to support the Department of Anatomic Pathology in Richmond. The PA will assist in human surgical specimen dissection, postmortem examinations, and provide training documentation while following established protocols.

Required ASCP certification (or certification within 1 year) with mandatory on-the-job training; independent work, supervision duties, and strong QC/QA participation are expected in a busy academic

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Life or Health Science accredited program plus 3 years of American Academy of Pathologists' Assistant approved on-the-job training, or Master’s Degree in Science from an accredited Pathologists' Assistant Program.
• Masters Degree in Science from an accredited Pathologists' Assistant Program.

Responsibilities

• Performs independently routine maintenance of equipment and manages supplies and work areas.
• Troubleshoots laboratory issues and handles personnel management issues with input from Manager/Director as needed.
• Supervises day-to-day workflow, schedules, equipment maintenance, and QA/QM reporting.
• On-call rotation for weekend Autopsy coverage.
