Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat complex acute care and NICU patients. You will design individualized plans and partner with physicians, nurses, and dietitians to ensure coordinated care and safe discharges.

The role requires Illinois licensure within 12 months of hire and a BLS certification within 30 days. A Master's degree is preferred and 1 year of acute care experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in Illinois within 12 months of hire.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire (AHA/ARC accepted).
• Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, feeding and swallowing evaluations for acute care and NICU patients.
• Design and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for pediatric and adult populations.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and dietitians to coordinate care plans and safe discharge strategies.
• Weekend and holiday requirements at minimum.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• - Conduct comprehensive speech, language, feeding, and swallowing evaluations for complex acute care and neonatal ICU (NICU) patients.
• - Design and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to fragile pediatric and adult clinical populations.
• - Partner closely with interdisciplinary care teamsâincluding physicians, nurses, and dietitiansâto coordinate care plans and safe discharge strategies.
• - Minimum weekend and holiday requirement.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• - Required Credential(s): BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• - Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. A valid license pending letter will be accepted until license is issued

Education

• - Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience

• - 1 year Acute experience.
• - CFY is not offered.
