Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for the Day Rehab department at Ascension Alexian Brothers Rehabilitation Hospital in Elk Grove Village, IL. You will deliver assessment and therapy for adult neurology cases and leverage video swallow studies to guide dysphagia management.

The role requires IL licensure and BLS within 30 days, with CFY not offered and a hospital-based background preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer date.
• SLP credential from Illinois required; provisional license accepted until issued.
• License must be obtained within 12 months of hire date.
• Diploma in Speech-Language Pathology; Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a dedicated adult neurological caseload.
• Evaluate and treat stroke-related speech, swallowing, cognitive-communication, and voice disorders.
• Utilize video swallow studies to guide dysphagia management.
• Minimum weekend and holiday requirement.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted required.
• Speech-Language Pathologist credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Speech language pathologist provisional license will be accepted until license is issued. License must be obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Additional Preferences

• CFY is not offered.
• 1 year hospital based experience.
