Mercy Hospital Springfield is seeking a full-time AP/CP BC/BE pathologist to fill a position opening due to retirement. We currently have 7 anatomic pathologists and a dedicated clinical pathologist.

Strong general surgical pathology skills are necessary, with a preference for Cytopathology, GYN pathology, or GI/liver pathology fellowship training. Position offers a Monday-Friday schedule with shared weekend/holiday call, no weekend sign-out, and a mix of biopsy and complex cases with frozen

Qualifications

Board-certified AP/CP pathologist with strong surgical pathology skills.
Fellowship training in Cytopathology, GYN, or GI/liver preferred.
3+ years independent sign-out experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Sign-out of surgical pathology cases with frozen section responsibility.
Limited clinical laboratory responsibilities and hematopathology support.
Workload includes 36,000+ surgical cases/year and 5,300+ non-gyn cytology cases/year.
Collaborate with a team of pathologists and support staff.
