Job summary

Mercy Hospital Springfield is seeking a full-time AP/CP BC/BE pathologist to join a team of 7 anatomic pathologists and a clinical pathologist. Strong general surgical pathology skills are essential, with preferred fellowship training in Cytopathology, GYN, or GI/Liver pathology.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with shared weekend/holiday call, no travel, and a mix of biopsy and complex cases with frozen section responsibility.

Qualifications

• Strong general surgical pathology skills required.
• Fellowship training in Cytopathology, GYN, or GI/Liver preferred.
• Preference for 3+ years independent sign-out experience.

Responsibilities

• Sign-out of surgical pathology and complex biopsies with frozen section responsibilities.
• Limited clinical laboratory responsibilities and limited hematopathology work.
• No grossing required; no autopsies.
