Job summary

Consolidated Pathology Nashville, a division within United Surgical Partners International, seeks a Pathologist Assistant for its state-of-the-art laboratory. You will perform grossing, assist in specimen processing, and support quality and compliance across the pathology workflow.

No weekends, no call, no holidays. Candidates should have a NAACLS-accredited degree and board registration eligibility, working under the Medical Director and Laboratory Administrator to uphold high standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified to conduct high complexity testing including grossing of all specimen types per CLIA regulations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a NAACLS accredited program.
• Board-registered or eligible for registry as a Pathologists’ Assistant with national registries (NCA, ASCP, AMT).

Responsibilities

• Meets all responsibility requirements established by Laboratory Admin and Medical Director.
• Adheres to state law requirements.
• Responsible for all aspects of grossing.
• Maintains sectioning operations per Medical Director and administration philosophies, including competency/proficiency documentation.
• Researches and contributes to new procedure implementations.
• Follows CAP-acceptable protocols and procedures.
• Operates, calibrates, and maintains grossing equipment.
• Prepares, labels, and stores reagents and solutions.
• Performs routine and special grossing on tissues/fluids to aid diagnosis.
• Performs all aspects of grossing using established methods.
• Performs other duties as assigned by superiors.
