Job summary

Consolidated Pathology Nashville is hiring a Pathologist Assistant to support surgical pathology services in a state-of-the-art laboratory. Responsibilities include grossing specimens and ensuring CLIA compliance under board-certified pathologists.

The role offers a stable schedule with no weekends, no on-call duties, and holidays off, contributing to a predictable work–life balance while delivering essential care to patients and clinicians.

Qualifications

• Qualified to conduct high complexity testing including grossing of all specimen types per CLIA regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from a NAACLS accredited training program.
• Board-registered or eligible for registry as a Pathologists’ Assistant with national registries (NCA, ASCP, AMT).

Responsibilities

• Meets all responsibility requirements established by the Laboratory Administrator and Medical Director.
• Adheres to all requirements of state law.
• Responsible for all aspects of grossing.
• Ensures the daily efficient operation of sectioning in line with the Medical Director and administration.
• Researches and contributes to implementation of new procedures as needed.
• Utilizes CAP-approved protocols and procedures.
• Operates, calibrates and maintains grossing equipment.
• Ensures reagents and solutions are properly prepared, ordered, labeled and stored.
• Performs routine and special grossing procedures on body tissues and fluids for diagnostic information.
• Performs all aspects of grossing including qualitative and quantitative procedures.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a NAACLS accredited training program

Board-registered or eligible for registry as a Pathologists’ Assistant (NCA, ASCP, AMT, etc.)
