Allied Search Partners is seeking a Pathologist Assistant for Brevard County, FL. The role supports pathologists with gross examination, specimen processing, and efficient workflow within the pathology laboratory.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Pathologists' Assistant with PA(ASCP) certification preferred, and demonstrates strong attention to detail, organization, and collaboration with a laboratory team.

Formación

• Master's degree from an accredited Pathologists' Assistant program.
• ASCP PA(ASCP) certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical pathology procedures, anatomy, and specimen handling.

Responsabilidades

• Perform gross examination and description of surgical pathology specimens under the direction and supervision of a pathologist.
• Assist pathologists with specimen dissection, preparation, and selection of tissue sections for microscopic examination.
• Ensure accurate specimen identification, labeling, documentation, and handling throughout the workflow.
• Prepare and maintain gross descriptions and ensure completeness of pathology reports.
• Assist with frozen sections, special procedures, and other laboratory functions as needed.
• Maintain compliance with laboratory policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with pathologists, histotechnologists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in a hospital, reference laboratory, or private pathology setting.
• Experience with a wide variety of surgical specimens and grossing procedures.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and pathology workflows.
