Job summary

Allied Search Partners in Louisiana is seeking a Permanent Pathologists’ Assistant to perform gross dissection and detailed descriptions of surgical specimens, working with pathologists across two active sites. The role includes specimen processing, submission for histology, and rotating between private and hospital labs to ensure broad clinical exposure.

The ideal candidate will be a NAACLS/ASCP-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant with PA(ASCP) certification or eligibility, and possess excellent

• Graduate of an NAACLS/ASCP-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program.
• PA(ASCP) certification or eligibility to sit for the board exam.
• Ability to work cooperatively within diverse clinical environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build positive working relationships with pathologists and technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate gross dissection and detailed description of surgical specimens across the full case spectrum - from routine biopsies to complex cancer resections.
• Specimen processing and submission for histologic processing and special studies.
• Rotate between privately owned laboratory (primary grossing site) and hospital lab, ensuring broad, balanced clinical exposure.
• Collaborate closely with pathologists and technical staff to maintain quality and workflow efficiency.
• Contribute to lab workflow coordination and other duties as assigned
