Sonic Anatomic Pathology in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Pathologist Assistant for a hospital-based pathology lab. The role supports grossing, description, and processing of surgical specimens for histology, including frozen sections and occasional autopsy cases. Typical hours are 7 am–4 pm, with relocation assistance available.

Requirements include a B.S. or M.S. in a Pathologist Assistant program NCCLS accredited, 1 year of tissue grossing experience, and ASPC BOC certification, plus strong

• Bachelor of Science or Master’s Pathologist Assistant program NCCLS accredited.
• 1 year of laboratory experience grossing all tissue types.
• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists BOC.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Describe, gross, and process a wide range of surgical specimens for histologic examination.
• Perform frozen sections and assist with rare autopsy cases.
• Operate general laboratory equipment including microscopes, analyzers, and pipettes.
• Maintain safety, compliance, and quality control in a fast-paced lab.

This hospital‑based role, under the general direction of the Medical Director, assists in all aspects of anatomic pathology. Responsibilities include describing, grossing, and processing a wide range of surgical specimen types and levels of complexity for histologic examination, including frozen sections and rare autopsy cases.

In this role, you will:

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process through preparation, gross description, and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:

• Bachelor of Science or Masters Pathologist Assistant program from a NCCLS accredited institution
• 1 year of laboratory experience grossing all tissue types from simple to complex
• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists BOC
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
