Job summary

Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP is seeking a Patent Prosecution Paralegal in Washington state to support our legal operations and patent prosecution team. You will manage filings, deadlines, and docketing while coordinating with attorneys, clients, and foreign counsel.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and five-plus years of patent prosecution experience, with strong organizational and writing skills, and proficiency in USPTO Patent Center, ePCT, MS Office, and iManage/FIP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and file U.S. patent applications and related prosecution documents with USPTO, WIPO, and foreign jurisdictions.
• Coordinate domestic and foreign patent prosecution activities and monitor deadlines.
• Maintain patent dockets, track deadlines, and ensure accurate records.
• Review and report patent office correspondence.
• Communicate with clients regarding filings, deadlines, and maintenance matters.
• Support attorney departures with transition documentation and matter coordination.
• Maintain legal databases such as iManage and FIP.
• Participate in legal technology projects and process improvement.
