Job summary

Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP is seeking a Patent Prosecution Paralegal to support the firm’s patent team in Boise. You will manage filings, deadlines, and docketing across US and international jurisdictions, coordinating with foreign associates and attorneys.

The role requires five-plus years of patent prosecution experience, strong organizational and writing skills, and proficiency with USPTO Patent Center, ePCT, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; minimum five years in patent prosecution.
• Strong organizational, deadline-driven, and professional writing skills.
• Experience with USPTO Patent Center and ePCT.
• Familiarity with IDS submissions and coordination with foreign associates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and file US and international patent applications and related filings.
• Coordinate domestic and foreign prosecution activities and deadlines.
• Maintain patent dockets, track deadlines, and ensure accurate records.
• Review and report patent office correspondence.
• Communicate with clients regarding filings, deadlines, and maintenance matters.
• Support attorney departures with transition documentation and matter coordination.
• Maintain legal databases (iManage, FIP) and participate in tech projects.
• Participate in portfolio management and process improvements.
