Job summary

Orion Placement in Edina, MN is seeking an IP patent docketing professional to support U.S. and international applications. The role emphasizes patent filing, docketing, and prosecution coordination within a focused IP practice.

Hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office, offering strong attention to detail, organization, and collaboration with experienced attorneys. Candidates should have hands-on US filing and PCT experience and a passion for patent prosecution.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant IP or patent experience preferred.
• Hands-on U.S. patent application filing experience required.
• PCT/international patent application filing experience required.
• Patent docketing experience preferred, or a strong willingness and interest in learning and handling patent docketing.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience supporting patent prosecution rather than litigation is strongly aligned with this position.

Responsibilities

• Support U.S. and international patent application preparation, filing, and prosecution activities.
• Manage and coordinate PCT and international patent application filings.
• Maintain accurate patent records, deadlines, and docket information.
• Assist with patent prosecution workflows and ensure filings are completed accurately and on time.
• Coordinate with attorneys and other team members on filing requirements, correspondence, and matter status.

• Handle confidential client and intellectual property information with professionalism and discretion.
• Contribute to an efficient, detail-oriented patent prosecution operation.
