Job summary

Orion Placement is recruiting for a patent litigation attorney to join our trial-focused team. You will draft, analyze, and refine patent claim charts for active infringement litigation and help develop case strategy for high-stakes disputes.

Work directly with experienced trial attorneys, take ownership of meaningful assignments with limited oversight, and contribute strategic thinking to challenging IP disputes. Hybrid and flexible office locations across Texas and California.

Qualifications

• Bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
• 1+ years of directly relevant IP or patent litigation experience.
• Hands-on experience drafting and analyzing patent claim charts.
• Strong understanding of patent law and patent infringement litigation.
• Excellent legal research, analysis, writing, and communication skills.
• Self-directed, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of complex assignments.
• Creative, driven, and able to move matters forward without heavy oversight.
• Associate-level candidates are preferred, although more senior attorneys with strong relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Draft, analyze, and refine patent claim charts for active infringement litigation
• Help develop case strategy for complex, high-stakes patent disputes
• Conduct substantive patent litigation analysis and support case preparation
• Work closely with experienced trial attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle
• Take ownership of meaningful assignments with limited day-to-day oversight
• Help prepare matters for hearings, depositions, trial, and other critical litigation milestones
• Contribute creative legal and strategic thinking to challenging intellectual property disputes
• Build courtroom and trial experience while developing as a patent litigator
