Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking an attorney with intellectual property patent litigation experience to join a trial-focused firm. You will draft patent claim charts, help develop case strategy, and work closely with experienced trial attorneys, with ownership of meaningful assignments.

Hybrid work options with offices in Texas and California; bar admission in at least one state and 1+ years IP litigation experience required. Strong judgment and initiative are valued.

Qualifications

• Bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
• 1+ years of directly relevant IP or patent litigation experience.
• Hands-on experience drafting and analyzing patent claim charts.
• Strong understanding of patent law and patent infringement litigation.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
• Self-directed, organized, and able to take ownership of complex assignments.
• Associates preferred; senior attorneys with strong relevant experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Draft, analyze, and refine patent claim charts for active infringement litigation.
• Help develop case strategy for complex, high-stakes patent disputes.
• Conduct substantive patent litigation analysis and support case preparation.
• Work closely with experienced trial attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle.
• Take ownership of meaningful assignments with limited day-to-day oversight.
• Help prepare matters for hearings, depositions, trial, and other critical litigation milestones.
• Contribute creative legal and strategic thinking to challenging intellectual property disputes.
• Build courtroom and trial experience while developing as a patent litigator.
