Job summary

Interlink Talent Solutions is assisting a leading AmLaw 50 firm in New York recruiting a Patent Litigation Associate.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of sophisticated patent litigation experience, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to manage complex disputes with partners and clients. Experience before federal courts, ITC, or PTAB is valued; a technical background in EE/CS is preferred, along with a J.D. from an accredited law school and NY bar admission.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of substantive patent litigation experience.
• Experience representing patent owners and/or accused infringers in complex disputes.
• Experience litigating before federal district courts, the ITC, and/or the PTAB (USPTO).
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral communication skills.
• Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• USPTO registration is a plus but not required.
• Active NY Bar membership is required.

Responsibilities

• Represent patent owners and accused infringers in sophisticated patent infringement disputes.
• Handle patent litigation matters before federal district courts, the ITC, and USPTO PTAB proceedings.
• Draft and assist with pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive filings.
• Conduct legal and factual research involving complex patent, technical, and procedural issues.
• Assist with fact and expert discovery, including document discovery and depositions.
• Work with technical experts and clients to analyze complex technologies and develop litigation strategy.
• Assist with claim construction, infringement and invalidity issues, and other substantive aspects of patent disputes.
• Prepare for hearings, depositions, trials, and other significant proceedings.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, technical professionals, and clients on complex patent litigation matters.
• Take increasing responsibility for substantive workstreams and overall case strategy.
