Job summary

Gilder Search Group seeks a Patent Litigation Associate with 3+ years of patent litigation experience to join its national IP and litigation platform in California. JD required and active CA Bar; strong writing and analytical skills are essential.

You’ll handle complex infringement disputes across the litigation lifecycle, including drafting, discovery, depositions, and trial prep, with meaningful responsibility in a collaborative, balanced environment and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of patent litigation experience
• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active California State Bar admission
• Strong patent infringement litigation experience
• Ability to independently manage cases
• Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Meaningful deposition and court appearance experience
• Technical fluency
• Experience with Markman hearings, IPRs, dispositive motions, or trial preparation is preferred

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex patent infringement disputes
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, and claim construction materials
• Conduct legal and technical research
• Develop strategies involving infringement, validity, enforceability, and damages
• Manage discovery, document review, and production
• Take and participate in depositions
• Coordinate with experts for discovery and trial
• Assist with Markman hearings and IPR proceedings
• Work on dispositive motions, trial preparation, and appeals
• Collaborate directly with clients, inventors, experts, and litigation teams
