Dinsmore & Shohl LLP in Tampa, FL seeks a Patent Litigation Associate with substantial experience to join our IP Litigation and Enforcement Practice Group. Candidates should have 5+ years of patent litigation and/or PTAB experience, with strong writing and advocacy skills.

The base salary ranges from $196,000 to $215,000 with potential bonus up to $45,000+ based on billable hours. Florida, Ohio, Colorado or Michigan bar admissions are preferred; other factors considered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of patent litigation experience and/or significant PTAB experience.
• License to practice in Florida, Ohio, Colorado, or Michigan as applicable.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent writing, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle patent litigation matters for regional and national clients.
• Prepare and argue motions, briefs and depositions; manage complex discovery and ESI.
• Work in a collegial team with emphasis on training and client contact.

Dinsmore has an immediate opportunity available for a Patent Litigation Associate in Tampa, FL; Cincinnati, OH; Detroit, MI; or Denver, CO. This position would be in our IP Litigation and Enforcement Practice Group. Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years of patent litigation experience and/or significant PTAB experience, including actual experience preparing and arguing motions, writing briefs, taking depositions, handling complex discovery and ESI, and preparing cases for trial. A technical background and USPTO patent bar registration is preferred but not required so long has you have the requisite real world experience.

Successful candidates should have a license to practice in Florida, Ohio, Colorado, or Michigan as applicable, strong academic credentials and excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills, as well as a desire to work in a collegial atmosphere with an emphasis on training, significant client contact, and a wide range of work handling complex patent litigation matters for regional and national clients of all sizes.
