Patent Coordinator
Let's do this. Let's change the world. Amgen is searching for a Patent Coordinator Biotechnology & Process Development in our Intellectual Property and Litigation group. This role can be based at Amgen's headquarters in Thousand Oaks, California; Amgen's site in Cambridge, Massachusetts; or at Amgen's site in South San Francisco, California. Remote candidates outside a commuting distance from these locations are also considered.
The successful candidate will support the Intellectual Property Law team by assisting with the preparation, filing (including e-filing), prosecution, and maintenance of patent applications both U.S. and Foreign. Responsibilities include preparing interference and opposition files, drafting correspondence, obtaining references, patents, file histories, setting up files and databases, preparing prosecution documents such as IDS, assignments, powers of attorney, and proofreading documents.
Duties may also involve word processing, copying, faxing, scanning, maintaining filing systems (including online systems), running docket reports, scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, and using online services (document orders, shipping, office supplies). You will review, prioritize, and flag high-priority communications for timely responses, and use internal contacts to provide prompt responses to inquiries from staff at all levels. You will also handle expense reports and maintain retrieval of filed information and correspondence for immediate access.
